Ather Energy, the electric two-wheeler manufacturer, is planning to introduce a new family scooter in early 2024.
The CEO of Ather Energy, Tarun Mehta, confirmed that the upcoming scooter will be larger than their current 450 series and will provide more space and comfort. Mehta also mentioned that the new scooter will be affordable and will serve as the entry-level model in the company’s portfolio.
In addition to the new scooter, Mehta announced that the 450 series will also receive updates around the same time next year. The focus will be on maintaining the clean, sharp, and minimalistic design while enhancing the performance.
Mehta stated that the 2024 Ather 450 range will offer the “pinnacle of refined performance” and will have best-in-class features. However, he acknowledged that these advancements will come with a premium price tag.
Mehta shared the news on his official social media account, saying, “This new iteration is set to be the absolute pinnacle of refined performance. It will have best-in-class features that will redefine your riding experience. We’re launching in early 2024, and yes, it comes with a premium price tag, but trust me, it’s worth every bit.”
Currently, the Ather 450 is available in two trim levels – 450S and 450X. The 450X, which comes with a larger 3.7 kWh battery pack, offers a claimed range of 150 km on a single charge. Both variants have a top speed of 90 kmph. The prices for the 450S start from INR 1.30 lakh, while the 450X starts from INR 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom). With the introduction of the new family scooter and the updates to the 450 series, Ather Energy aims to continue providing innovative and high-performance electric two-wheelers to its customers.
